Having studied Telecommunication at the Faculty of Transportation Sciences, Czech Technical University in Prague, Vilem Vesely worked between 2004 and 2013 for the Czech Telecommunication Office (national regulatory authority) and since 2013 he is employed at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Department for Electronic Communications.

He is responsible for international affairs in the field of electronic communications, which has made him encounter many regulatory and legal activities at the EU level, within Czechia or even worldwide, following the international organizations’ activities concerning quickly evolving ICTs.

The above-mentioned department is also responsible for putting forward the strategies at the national level; one of those is the national text “Implementation and Development of 5G Networks in the Czech Republic, Towards the Digital Economy”.
